Luci and Tracie met two years ago, about five years after Luci’s first MS symptoms. They moved in together six months ago, and both are graduate students in their early 30’s. Luci takes a DMT but continues to experience problems with vision, learning, and memory, making her less efficient and productive with her studies. She also has a depressed mood and significant fatigue that interfere with physical activity as well as intimacy. Tracie is worrying about the future of their relationship and is putting pressure on Luci to “do something more” about her MS, whether it’s changing medication, improving her diet, or starting yoga. Luci is feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about what to do; both Luci and Tracie are feeling increasingly distant, communicating less, and worrying more.
